Michael is a Michigan native and is currently based in East Lansing where he is pursuing his Bachelor of Music (BM) in Tuba performance at Michigan State University. Michael began his time at MSU in the Fall of 2021 and is a member of the MSU Tuba/ Euphonium studio where he studies with Phil Sinder.
Michael regularly performs throughout the state of Michigan on Tuba, Euphonium, Trombone, Electric Bass, and Ukulele. He started his musical journey at the age of 9 playing violin and tenor trombone. By the end of his high school career Michael was proficient in all Low Brass instruments and various fretted string instruments. He has performed in many large ensembles and chamber groups, including the Michigan All-State Symphonic Band, the Capitol City Brass Band, the Saginaw Eddy Concert Band, "Quintessence", the "Strikerz" tuba-euphonium quartet, and the Michigan State University Symphony Orchestra.
With a passion for education, Michael is pursuing a collegiate teaching career. He currently runs a small private studio where he teaches Tuba, Euphonium, Trombone, and Electric bass. His masterclasses for young students and his compilations of musical resources resources have proven effective in furthering the development of many growing musicians.
